Sacha Baron Cohen has reprised his satirical character Ali G for the new feature film Ali G: Who Iz I?, Variety and ComingSoon reported. As FTMQ Film & TV reported earlier, Amazon MGM Studios set a one-week theatrical window that began on October 23, 2026. Variety reported that the movie will stream on Amazon Prime Video starting October 30. [1][4][13][14]
Variety reported that Sacha Baron Cohen commented on United States President Donald Trump during press for the film, stating that Americans were too easy to dismiss him as a nincompoop and that Trump has elements of brilliance. ComingSoon reported that Sacha Baron Cohen also released a promotional video as Ali G on social media asking viewers to pirate the film. [1][4]
The AV Club and Deadline reported that Sacha Baron Cohen recently discussed his casting as Mephisto in the Disney+ series Ironheart. Both outlets reported that the actor commended the production team and producers for taking care to ensure that he, as a Jewish actor, was not insulted by playing Marvel's version of the devil. [2][6]
The Anti-Defamation League defended Sacha Baron Cohen against boycott calls related to his support for Israel, as reported by The Wrap. FTMQ Film & TV reported earlier that Anti-Defamation League Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Greenblatt criticized the online boycott calls as an ideological litmus test. Sacha Baron Cohen originally introduced the character Ali G on British television at the turn of the century before airing on HBO, according to Variety and Wikipedia. [1][7][10][13][14]
