The posthumous release of actor Eric Dane's memoir, titled My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, has detailed a physical confrontation on the set of the NBC television series Las Vegas. Variety reported that Dane recounted getting into an altercation with series lead Josh Duhamel while filming a guest appearance during the show's second season. Dane wrote that he requested Duhamel take it easy during their scenes because he was dealing with a herniated disc in his neck at the time. [1]

The project was written during the final year of Dane's life following his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, according to TV Insider and The Hollywood Reporter. The outlets reported that Dane died in February at the age of 53, less than a year after revealing his ALS diagnosis. TV Insider added that the book covers both the personal and professional milestones of his career. [2][3]

To mark the book's release, Dane's former partner Rebecca Gayheart made her first broadcast appearance since his death in a pre-recorded segment on Today with Maria Shriver, TV Insider reported. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Gayheart and Dane married in 2004 before initiating divorce proceedings in 2018, which were subsequently dismissed in 2025. [2][3]

In addition to his early television roles, the late actor documented his career trajectory in the industry, including his run as Dr. Mark Sloan on the long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy, according to Entertainment Weekly. [9]
