Actress Jaime Pressly has defended her former co-stars on the CBS television series Mom, calling them an incredible cast of women. Deadline and IMDb both report that Pressly made the statements in response to comments published by series co-creator Chuck Lorre in his memoir, Sitcom. Lorre wrote in the book that he was right regarding his original reluctance to cast Anna Faris in the lead role of Christy Plunkett. [1][3]
Pressly, who played the character Jill Kendall on the CBS comedy series, addressed the comments during an interview with E! News. Deadline and IMDb both reported that Pressly noted she appeared on the production for seven years of its eight-season run. Her response follows previous comments from Faris regarding Lorre's criticisms. [1][3]
As FTMQ Film & TV reported earlier, Faris previously responded to Lorre after he addressed her casting in his memoir. Faris starred as Christy Plunkett for seven seasons on the series, which was created by Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, and Gemma Baker for CBS. [7]
In separate reports about Lorre's memoir, TV Insider reported that the producer also detailed his past work on the 1990s sitcom Cybill. According to TV Insider, Lorre was fired from that production during its second season following creative disagreements with series star Cybill Shepherd. [2]
