Prime Video has ordered a series adaptation of the thriller novel Savage Son with actor Chris Pratt returning to lead the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline. Pratt will reprise his role as former Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander James Reece. The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Variety, and The Wrap all report that it remains unclear whether the new project will serve as the third season of the main Terminal List series or act as a standalone spinoff show. [1][2][3][5]

The new series is based on the book of the same title by author Jack Carr. Savage Son is the third novel in Carr's Terminal List book series, following True Believer and preceding The Devil's Hand. [1][2][3][10]

The order follows the return of the franchise to the Amazon-owned streaming service. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the second season of The Terminal List debuted on Prime Video on October 21 following a four-year gap between seasons. That flagship series drew 830 million minutes of watch time for the week of October 19 to October 25, according to The Hollywood Reporter. [1]

Deadline noted that the platform previously produced the prequel project The Terminal List: Dark Wolf as part of its effort to map out the military thriller franchise. Prime Video is an American subscription video-on-demand service owned by Amazon that distributes content produced by Amazon MGM Studios alongside licensed programming. [2][11]
