AMC Theatres recorded all-time high quarterly revenue for the third quarter ending September 30, driven by key theatrical releases. According to reports by The Wrap and Variety, the exhibitor generated revenue of $1.71 billion for the period, representing a 31.6 percent increase from $1.30 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. Deadline reported revenue of $1.7 billion, up 31 percent, which surpassed the previous record established in the second quarter of 2026. [3][4][6]

The Hollywood Reporter, The Wrap, and Variety all report that the financial surge was fueled by theatrical runs for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The Wrap and Deadline reported that AMC turned a net profit of $109.3 million, or 13 cents per share, compared to a net loss of $298.2 million during the third quarter of the previous year. The Wrap also reported that adjusted EBITDA reached a record $347.5 million. [2][3][4][6]

Chief executive officer Adam Aron stated that the chain recorded market share gains across both domestic and international territories, according to Deadline. The performance marks the second consecutive profitable quarter for the company after operating at a loss in previous years. [3][4]

AMC Theatres operates as the largest theatrical exhibition company in both the United States and globally, controlling approximately 860 locations and 9,600 screens worldwide. [9]
