Nicolas Cage, Alexander Ludwig, Gabriel Basso, and Maria Bakalova have been cast in the upcoming true crime feature film The Brand. Deadline and Mezha.net both reported on the project, which is being packaged for buyers at the American Film Market. [1][8]

The production is based on an investigative article written for The New Yorker by journalist David Grann. His article details the history of the prison gang known as the Aryan Brotherhood. Grann is a staff writer for the publication, and his previous investigative work also served as the source material for the feature film Killers of the Flower Moon. [1][10]

Cage previously starred in the feature film Longlegs. Bakalova earned an Academy Award nomination for her role as Tutar in the 2020 mockumentary comedy sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, and she also recently appeared in The Apprentice. Basso currently stars in the television series The Night Agent, while Ludwig has appeared in the Bad Boys feature film franchise. [1][9]

Separately, distributor Vertical released a 43-second teaser trailer for Lords of War, a sequel to the 2005 crime film Lord of War. The AV Club, ComingSoon, JoBlo, ScreenRant, and FirstShowing all reported on the trailer release. The sequel reunites Cage with director Andrew Niccol, and the cast features Bill Skarsgard alongside Cage. [2][3][4][5][6][7]
