Amazon MGM Studios will release the comedy Ali G: Who Iz I? on Prime Video on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, The Wrap, and ComingSoon. The feature marks the directorial debut of star Sacha Baron Cohen, who reprises his hip-hop journalist character originally created for Da Ali G Show. [1][2][3]

The project debuted in cinemas over the weekend before shifting quickly to the streaming platform. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the film ran for two days, while ComingSoon stated that it opened in the United Kingdom five days ahead of its digital release. The Wrap reported that Amazon MGM Studios initially planned a wide theatrical release, but reduced the theatrical footprint to a handful of screens following online backlash and efforts to ban the film from European theaters. [1][2][3]

The plot centers on Ali G discovering that his girlfriend, played by Morgana Robinson, is eight months pregnant, prompting a trip to America, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In response to an unwitting appearance in the film, El Paso County Republican Party chair Michael Aboud threatens legal action and has called Baron Cohen a pervert, ComingSoon reported. [1][5]

The character originated on the U.K. sketch comedy series Da Ali G Show in 2000 before airing on HBO in the United States, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Baron Cohen is known for portraying satirical characters such as Ali G, Borat Sagdiyev, Brüno Gehard, and Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen. [1][12]
