Joy Behar returned to the ABC daytime talk show The View on Tuesday, October 27, after a month-long absence, Deadline, TV Insider, and Variety all reported. The 84-year-old comedian suffered a backstage fall in late September that resulted in a dislocated shoulder, according to Variety and TV Insider. [1][2][3][4]
Variety and TV Insider reported that Behar last appeared on the broadcast on September 30. During her return to the panel on Tuesday, Behar described the pain from her injury as worse than childbirth, Variety and AOL reported. [3][4][7]
Her return comes after speculation that the network was considering replacing her on the panel. TV Insider and ComingSoon both reported that a representative and producer for the show debunked reports claiming Behar was leaving or being fired. [2][5]
Behar has co-hosted The View on ABC since the program began, and won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work on the show in 2009. [12]
