The AV Club, Deadline, and ComingSoon reported that Jason Blum and James Wan have renamed their combined horror studio entity to Blumhouse Atomic. The decision drops the word Monster from the previous corporate title, Blumhouse Atomic Monster, two years after the initial merger of the two companies. [1][3][6]

According to Deadline, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will continue to function as distinct production labels underneath the Blumhouse Atomic umbrella. Each banner maintains its own dedicated creative teams to shepherd film and television projects. In a statement released to Deadline, Jason Blum described the simplified name as a natural evolution of what the companies have built together. [1][3]

Deadline reported that the combined entity's upcoming slate includes projects such as Obsession, Backrooms, and new entries in The Conjuring franchise. The AV Club noted that the joint banner is also developing a new chapter in the Saw franchise, bringing the property back under James Wan's supervision. Atomic Monster was originally established by Wan in October 2014, as background details show. [1][3][11]

As FTMQ Film and TV reported earlier, the joint studio recently presented its upcoming production lineup at New York Comic-Con. The company's future slate includes a co-financing deal with Paramount Pictures for the horror feature Molepeople, scheduled for theatrical distribution in August 2027. [12][13]
