Production on the second season of the television drama Heated Rivalry is officially underway, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The series, created by Jacob Tierney, is an adaptation of the Game Changers sports romance book series written by Rachel Reid. [1][10]

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reid is presently participating in a promotional book tour for the deluxe edition of her novel Heated Rivalry. Speaking backstage at a tour event, Reid stated that traveling on the tour while production is in progress presents a challenge because she must avoid revealing plot spoilers after visiting the television set. Heated Rivalry was created, written, and directed by Jacob Tierney for the Canadian streaming service Crave. The drama series stars Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov, portraying two professional hockey players who navigate a secret long-term romantic relationship while competing on rival teams. Reid, a Canadian novelist from Nova Scotia, originally published the underlying romance novel in 2019. [10][11]

The television adaptation expands Crave's roster of original scripted programming following the release of the initial books in the Game Changers franchise. Production on the second season continues as publisher promotional events for the deluxe book edition proceed. [1][10][11]
