Apple TV search for Stormlight Archive showrunner delays filming

Apple TV is searching for a showrunner for its planned television adaptation of Brandon Sanderson's fantasy book series The Stormlight Archive, Collider reported. The project is currently unable to begin principal filming because the leadership position has not been filled. [1]

According to Collider, Sanderson disclosed the status of the production during an interview with Maggie Lovitt at FanX Salt Lake. Sanderson confirmed that he is personally participating in the selection process by interviewing candidates for the position. [1]

Collider reported that Sanderson is already writing for the television adaptation while the executive search continues. The appointment of a showrunner represents the primary creative role required before the project can move forward into active production. [1]
