Actor Luke Grimes has confirmed that he has not spoken to his former co-star Kevin Costner since production ended on the Paramount Network drama Yellowstone. Variety, quoting an interview Grimes gave to USA Today, reported that the actor attributed the lack of communication to both performers simply being busy. [1][13]
According to Collider, Grimes still supports the idea of Costner returning to the franchise in some form despite prior reports of friction between Costner and series creator Taylor Sheridan. Meanwhile, TV Line reported that Marshals showrunner Spencer Hudnut confirmed active discussions regarding a potential crossover between the CBS spin-off and Paramount's Dutton Ranch. [2][4][11]
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone concluded its five-season run on Paramount Network in December 2024. Marshals, created by Spencer Hudnut as a police procedural spin-off and sequel, airs Sundays on CBS and features Grimes reprising his role alongside cast members including Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham.
