James Spader discusses new human design for Ultron in VisionQuest

James Spader has revealed details regarding a major design change for his return as the villain Ultron in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe television show VisionQuest, ScreenRant reported. Spader disclosed at the New York press line that discussions took place to craft a human appearance for the character in the Disney+ production. [1]

The upcoming series also features Paul Bettany, who is reprising his title role as Vision for the first time since the series WandaVision, according to ScreenRant. Although the robotic antagonist was originally believed to have been killed by Vision near the end of the feature film Avengers: Age of Ultron, ScreenRant reported that the narrative now places Ultron within Vision's Mindscape. Ultron originally debuted in Marvel comic books in 1968, created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema. The character first appeared as the Crimson Cowl before being fully introduced as Ultron-5. [7]

The return of Spader to the Marvel Studios franchise brings a human aesthetic to a character historically depicted as a living automaton. Disney+ has not announced a formal premiere date for VisionQuest. [1][7]
