Horror film Buddy sets home distribution schedule including VHS release

The horror film Buddy will launch on digital platforms on October 13, 2026, according to ComingSoon and iHorror. ComingSoon, ScreenAnarchy, and Bloody Disgusting also reported that the film's DVD and Blu-ray editions are set for release on December 8, 2026. iHorror reported that the home entertainment roll-out follows a theatrical run that earned $26 million. A physical VHS edition of the film will also be offered. ComingSoon reported that presales for the VHS release will begin on November 24 through Witter Entertainment to ensure delivery for the holiday season. Dread Central and Bloody Disgusting also confirmed that the physical release strategy includes the cassette format. [1][7][10]

VHS is a discontinued analog video recording standard on tape cassettes, which was originally introduced in September 1976 by the Victor Company of Japan. It served as the dominant home video media format during the 1980s and 1990s. [11]
