United States production company Cineroost has joined filmmaker Prateek Vats' second feature, titled Chronicles of a Confession, as a producer, Variety reported. The company, founded by Kavita Gupta, joins existing producers Payal Kapadia and Anurag Kashyap on the project. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in early November. [1]
According to Variety, Cineroost stepped in to manage global representation, oversee United States markets, and facilitate getting the film into active production. The project marks Cineroost's next feature film following its work on the Vir Das film Baara Number. The script for Chronicles of a Confession was written by Vidur Nauriyal, Shubham, and Vats. [1]
The drama centers on a Kashmiri shawl seller. Producer Kashyap is an Indian filmmaker recognized with four Filmfare Awards, and he was appointed a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in 2013. [1][2]
Co-producer Kapadia is an Indian director whose short film Afternoon Clouds screened at the 70th Cannes Film Festival in 2017. Her debut feature, A Night of Knowing Nothing, earned the Golden Eye award for best documentary film at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in 2021. [3]
