Warner Bros Television Group executive Channing Dungey has expanded her leadership role to oversee Paramount cable networks, Deadline reported. The news follows the completion of Paramount closing its acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery, according to reports from TheDesk.net, Marketing Report, and afaqs. [1][2][3][7]

Under her expanded portfolio, Dungey will now manage Paramount cable networks including MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and BET, Deadline reported. Variety noted that Dungey confirmed her new role within the Skydance leadership structure in a staff memorandum. These additions join her existing network responsibilities, which expanded at the start of 2025 to include Warner Bros Discovery brands such as Discovery Channel, TLC, HGTV, and Food Network, according to Deadline. [1][8]

The executive management shift comes as Paramount completed its corporate merger with Warner Bros. Michael West Media and News Karnataka reported the transaction reached a valuation of 110 billion dollars. Wikipedia notes that Paramount Skydance originally announced its intent to acquire Warner Bros Discovery in February 2026 at 31 dollars per share, backed by financing from the Ellison family, RedBird Capital Partners, and sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. [4][5][11]

Dungey previously served as Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Television Group and US Networks, Deadline reported. Dungey was named chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros Television in 2020, becoming the first Black American president of a major broadcast television network, according to Wikipedia. Addressing her expanded responsibilities across the combined cable and broadcast portfolios, Deadline reported that Dungey told staff it was time to begin a new chapter. [1][8][9]
